FAQ about SBA Size Standards
What are SBA size standards?
The Small Business Administration defines maximum revenue or employee counts that a business must not exceed to qualify as "small" for federal contracting, SBA loans, and other government programs. Each NAICS code has its own threshold.
How are size standards determined?
Standards are measured either in average annual receipts (revenue, in millions of dollars) or in number of employees. The SBA reviews and updates these thresholds periodically. The data on this page reflects the table effective March 17, 2023.
How do I find my size standard?
First, search for your NAICS code or browse the NAICS 2022 index. Each code page includes the SBA size standard if one is assigned. Use the most specific (longest) code that matches your primary business activity.
